From the street, the house is almost hidden by a carnival of well-established trees, shrubs and colourful flower beds. As we approach, the front door is sheltered from the elements by an extended roof giving visitors a welcoming alcove.
We are met inside the house with a reception foyer, keeping the home completely private from visitors. The first thing we notice is the freshly painted walls in neutral colours that immediately add a degree of sophistication. Bright ceramic tiles flow through the public areas creating a cool environment throughout, and cathedral ceilings add to this.
The large, fully tiled lounge area is air-conditioned for comfort and, because of the design of the home, this one conditioner services the whole public area. At one end of the lounge is a large brick fireplace with storage for extra logs, no trailing outside during the cold winter nights for additional fuel. A sliding glass door, with security mesh, gives access to the side of the house and there are down-lights throughout the area.
The lounge is separated from the kitchen/dining area by a 7-foot feature wall partition, but the cathedral ceiling allows for cool air to circulate throughout.
The kitchen is yet another area where the current owner has stamped his improvements, with heaps of storage space, stainless steel appliance, including a Bosch dishwasher, ceramic cooktop and a built-in pantry. Open plan with this is the large dining room, which allows the chef to join the family conversations while preparing meals. The dining room flows through a glass door to the entertainment area outside.
Off the lounge, away from the other bedrooms for privacy, is the master suite. As with all the bedrooms, this has new timber flooring and built-in wardrobes, in this case, two large double robes. Alongside is an ensuite with a shower, toilet, vanity and an IXL heater, extractor.
From the dining area, we enter the accommodation wing, with an additional two bedrooms, both with built-in wardrobes and timber flooring. This area is serviced by the main bathroom, with a bath, shower and vanity. The is a separate WC next door for convenience.
Further down the dining area is the fourth bedroom, again with a built-in wardrobe and timber flooring, used currently as a study and well suited for this role.
The outside is what makes this home ideal for families and entertaining alike. At the rear of the house is a massive 5m x 10m undercover entertainment deck, fully paved and insulated with power and down-lights, what better place for entertaining guests or a family BBQ. From here the flat lawns stretch to the rear fence of the property, interspersed with well-established trees and shrubs, and a children’s playground where they can run and play within sight of the entertainment area. The whole back yard is fully fenced making it secure for young children, or even pets.
Alongside the lawns is a free form in-ground, saltwater swimming pool. Fully fenced as required by law and, again, within sight of the entertainment area. Also inside the pool enclosure is a small hut for the pool equipment and a water tank serviced by the carport.
At one side of the house is a small open shed, ideal for storing tools or even a valued motorcycle. At the rear of the gardens is a large workshop with an attached carport, again ideal for storing valuable vehicles.
At the other side of the house is a double carport with another large workshop attached. The carport is accessed from the street through a remote-controlled gate.
The home is serviced by 24 solar panels producing 6.5Kw, allowing the home to be almost self-sufficient in power.
The home is conveniently located only a short drive to the Logan Hyperdome, with hundreds of shops, restaurants, cinema’s and of course the large Logan Bus Interchange, offering services all over Brisbane.
A number of schools are close by including Shailer Park Primary and High, John Paul College and St Mathews primary and Chisholm College.
For the sports-minded, there are four golf courses within a few minutes, a sports centre and any number of playing fields and sports clubs.
Shailer Park is only minutes from access to the M1 and Ipswich motorways putting the CBD, Gold Coast, western suburbs and even Brisbane airport less than ½ hours travel.
For the kids, Dreamworld, Wet n Wild and Movieworld are also just a 20 minutes drive down the freeway – so why not buy an annual pass.
