Approaching the home, the boundaries are delineated by immaculately trimmed hedges that seem to lead the guest up the stairs to the large double doorway nestled in a covered porch, paved with terracotta tiles and protection from any climatic extremes.

Through the front doors, again another entry hall, keeping the rest of the living area private from any casual visitor. We advance into the home proper and find a massive, tiled, open plan living area, with a formal lounge, dining area, family room and kitchen. The entire area is heated at one end by a cosy wood-burning fire and cooled from the other end by a large air conditioner.

There are fans for additional cooling in the formal lounge and family room areas, and all fans throughout the house are brand new.

The extra-large gourmet kitchen has an Ariston stainless steel oven, a ceramic cooktop with an extractor, heaps of storage space including a walk-in pantry, acres of benchtop and even room for a dishwasher. Classical modern downlights illuminate this space for optimum meal preparation.

Alongside the open plan “public area” is the carpeted guest room, separate from the main living wing and complete with a new air-conditioner, fan and built-in wardrobes. With a range of connections including cable TV and internet, this is the ideal space for guest accommodation.

Further down the living space is the accommodation wing with a fully carpeted third bedroom with built-in wardrobes and the essential Queensland necessities – fans and air-conditioning

Next up is a laundry with large linen storage and external access to the rear drying area.

The main bathroom has a shower, a large corner bath, vanity and IXL extractor, and of course a separate toilet with its own washbasin for added convenience.

Alongside the accommodation wing, is a second bedroom. As with all the bedrooms, this is carpeted, air-conditioned, a ceiling fan and built-in wardrobes.

In an interesting architectural feature, all of the bedrooms are quite separate from each other, giving enhanced privacy for the occupants.

I would have to say the Master Bedroom suite is absolutely stunning, with views across the entertainment pool area and the ranges to the south and west with private access to the enormous covered deck, which gives almost 1800 views.

The bedroom is fully carpeted with air-conditioning and a fan. The room is filtered by downlights, to add to the sophisticated atmosphere. Alongside it is a monster ensuite with a large double shower unit and a giant spa bath. There is also a walk-in wardrobe within the ensuite which allows for full dressing in private if required.

From the living space is the entryway to the enormous deck for year-round festivities while admiring and soaking in the essential view.

From the other end of the living space, a timber staircase leads down to the ground floor, where two large auxiliary rooms lend themselves to an open area that can be used as a retreat, granny-flat, rumpus or media room. One has been used as a gym, with timber flooring and additional storage under the stairs, and the other a small dance studio or sewing room.

The gym area even has a vanity, perfect for cooling off after a long session. There is a doorway that leads out to the driveway and side access to the pool.

Next to these auxiliary rooms is a large space under the house, holding an extra large water tank with a pump, ideal for watering the gardens.

At the master bedroom side of the house is an incredible, newly expanded entertainment area with a free form in-ground salt-water pool. A large paved area protected by a shade cloth awning, small equipment shed for the pool cleaning equipment and a garden shed for storing all those essential tools.

Outside the pool area stretches a massive expanse of artificial lawn, it looks absolutely beautiful and certainly adds sparkle to this entertaining space.

At the rear of the house is a large slab which would take 3 cars and a caravan at a pinch, or storage for a boat and trailer. This area is gated and there is access to the street from here.

The other side of the house has a nook at the bottom of the garden, which runs the full width of the house and has been used previously as a kiddies playground and is safe for this purpose. This nook is hidden by any number of trees and shrubs, including a lady finger banana tree, yum yum.

As well as the water tank, the home is equipped with a 5Kw solar system, making the home much more self-sufficient and ecologically sound, and a large 320-litre hot water system, replaced in 2018.

Tanah Merah is a high growth suburb, which is still yet to see its full potential. The area is conveniently located only minutes from fantastic shopping, cinemas, restaurants and bars at the Logan Hyperdome, a large number of public and private schools, many parks with BBQ areas, playgrounds, sporting facilities, cycling and walking tracks and four major golf courses.

It is only a couple of minutes from access to the M1, north or south, and the Ipswich Motorway, putting the Brisbane CBD, the Gold Coast and the western suburbs all within easy reach. Even Brisbane airport is only ½ an hour away.
Ideal for the angler, the Logan River is renowned for fishing and crabbing, Moreton Bay is only 30 minutes easy drive away, and for the kids, Dreamworld, Wet n Wild and Movieworld are also just a 20 minutes drive down the freeway – so why not buy a season pass!
